Secretary of State for Tourism makes two-day visit to the Algarve

Rita Marques will be in Lagos, Monchique, Castro Marim and Vila Real de Santo António

Rita Marques, Secretary of State for Tourism, Commerce and Services, will spend the next two days in the Algarve, “with the aim of maintaining close and regular contact with the territories and entities that are involved in the development of tourism-related activities”.

This is the first of a series of visits across the country, where Rita Marques will meet «with mayors, regional and local entities, associations and companies, seeking to make contact with new public and private projects, including projects within the scope of the development of new products, training, sustainability, digital transition, inclusion, innovation or knowledge, and that contribute to making the national tourist destination more competitive».

Rita Marques' journey begins this Monday, May 16, in the afternoon, in Lagos, with a visit to the Marina, at 15 pm. At 00:15 pm, the Secretary of State meets with the associations of the Tourism sector in the Algarve.

At 18:30 pm, the minister goes to Monchique, where she will visit the Thermal Complex.

On Tuesday, the 17th, Rita Marques will be in the Eastern Algarve. At 9:00 am, she will visit the Verde Lago development, in Altura, in the municipality of Castro Marim and, at 11:00 am, she will go to Salmarim, take a «brief pedestrian route» on the Ciclovia da Lezíria and visit Água Mãe.

Vila Real de Santo António is Rita Marques' last “stop”. In the municipality of Vila Real, the official will visit an accommodation project for workers.
