Hospital Lusíadas Albufeira acquired a new generation of magnetic resonance equipment, a pioneer in the world.

The world's first Magnetom Free.Star, by Siemens Healthineers, was installed in Portugal at the Lusíadas Saúde Group's Algarve hospital unit, with the aim of «providing access to the best healthcare in the Algarve region».

Taking into account the advanced technology, the machine - which can be used in different clinical areas such as Neurosurgery, Neurology, Oncology and Orthopedics - allows an "even faster and more accurate diagnosis and obtains, with shorter acquisition times, an image of superior quality and with better contrast resolution», stresses the group in a statement.

«We are aware that a faster and more accurate diagnosis of pathologies with a high national incidence is essential for a better follow-up of those who come to us. The technological evolution in this area has been enormous and, therefore, we assume a continuous update of our diagnostic tools, reinforcing our commitment to preventive medicine», says Pedro Oliveira, CEO of Lusíadas Saúde units in the Algarve.

The new MRI equipment is available for carrying out previously scheduled exams and also for emergency situations, 24 hours a day.
