Instituto Piaget de Silves won the third prize of the EU Health Award – 2021, with the project “Give the Stage to Health”, in the category of educational institutions.
The winners of this award were revealed in Brussels, during the annual meeting of the European Union's Health Policy Platform.
The project “Give the Stage to Health” is promoted by the Piaget Institute, through the research unit in education and community intervention, RECI, in collaboration with the Institute for Research and Innovation in Health (i3S/Ipatimup) and also involves a set of schools of the 3rd cycle of basic education and secondary education.
According to Piaget, the winning project «uses the Forum Theater technique as a methodology for social transformation to improve young people's literacy on cancer and their critical thinking».
In total, 110 applications were submitted from 15 European Union countries.
The prize awarded to the Piaget Institute, in the amount of 12 thousand euros, will be fully applied to the operationalization of the project “Give the Stage to Health”.
