Futebol Clube de Ferreiras secured this Saturday, May 14, the conquest of the I Division of the Algarve District Football Championship, beating Lagoa by 0-2. The team from the municipality of Albufeira has moved up in the division and will compete in the Portuguese Championship next season.
In the visit to Lagoa, David Antão's team won with goals from João Barbosa and João Romeiro.
Ferreiras also benefited from the expressive defeat of Culatrense at Quarteira (4-0).
With two matches to be played, the promotion is thus handed over to the Albufeira team that will return to the Portuguese Championship, a competition they last played in 2018/2019.
The Algarve Football Association has already congratulated “the entire structure” of Ferreiras for this achievement.
