Chefs, designers and artisans team up to create 10 new craft products

This residence is part of the Algarve Craft and Food project

Chefs, designers and artisans have been, since the 27th of April, at Tôr (Loulé), in an artistic residency. The objective is to create 10 new handicraft products for traditional Algarve food.

This residency is part of the Algarve Craft and Food project and will be promoted by QRER – Cooperativa para o Desenvolvimento dos Territorios de Densidade for two weeks, with a view to creating 10 prototypes of handicrafts related to Algarve food traditions.

The itinerary includes visits to the artisans' ateliers, gastronomic experience sessions where the aim is to stimulate the debate on the gastronomic culture of the Algarve, handicrafts and the relationship with the territory and the realization of experiences, models and prototypes between designers and artisans.

The residency involves nine qualified professionals including designers, chefs and artisans, with proven experience of strong connection to the Algarve territory in their areas of intervention, who will look at regional traditions and offer them a new life.
