Sustainable tourism and cultural routes were the subject of training aimed at EN2 municipalities

As part of the Best Med project

Sustainable tourism, cultural routes and the services associated with them are some of the topics that were focused on the training action “Development and Management of Cultural Routes”, which took place on March 30 and 31 and April 6 and 7.

In this 14-hour training, coordinated by the University of Algarve and carried out in partnership with the Association of Municipalities of Estrada Nacional 2, within the scope of the Best Med project, 82 technicians from 29 municipalities participated in the Association of Municipalities of the National Route 2 Route.

The action was coordinated by Cláudia Ribeiro de Almeida, professor at the School of Management, Hospitality and Tourism (ESGHT), and the dynamization was the responsibility of trainer Rui Mendonça-Pedro, from the Research Center in Tourism, Sustainability and Welfare. Being (CinTurs) from UAlg.

«This action covered topics divided into five modules: Sustainable development of culture and tourism (Module 1); The concept of cultural routes as innovative tourist products (Module 2); Services associated with cultural routes and the role of local communities (Module 3); Tourist typologies and management of tourist flows (Module 4) and Economic sustainability of cultural routes (Module 5)», according to UAlg.

Also within the scope of the Best Med Project, on the 4th and 5th of May, a new training action will be held on the same topic, aimed at agents operating along Estrada Nacional 2.
