Man wanted for tax crimes in Finland detained in Albufeira

The suspect was approached following a 'road offence'

A 46-year-old man, who had an international arrest warrant for tax crimes in Finland, was arrested this Saturday, April 9, in Albufeira.

According to the GNR, the suspect was approached following a "road violation".

After the fine and the identification of the man, the military found that the suspect “had an international arrest warrant for extradition pending, under the Schengen agreement, for tax crimes committed in Finland, which led to his arrest” for extradition.

The individual was present yesterday, April 11th, at the Évora Court of Appeal.
