Creative exhibition by Loulé Design Lab will be at MAR Shopping Algarve

On the 16th and 17th of April

Next weekend, the 16th and 17th of April, MAR Shopping Algarve will host an exhibition by Loulé Design Lab. The initiative aims to support ideas and projects in the area of ​​design applied to the local culture and to give visitors the opportunity to «see how design, tradition and the circular economy can go hand in hand in areas as different as fashion, jewellery. or product design'.

On Saturday, the 16th, the “Gustavino” project, which aims to produce a wine rack with recycled plastic, will print its products in 3D on site. This initiative is led by Gustavo Arguello and Carla Martins Arguello, who have over 15 years of experience in Branding and Packaging Design and, since 2009, have been researching more sustainable materials and technologies.

On the following day, the 17th, Susan Sutherland will be spinning wool with an artisanal spinning wheel, as part of the “Black Sheep Knits” project, which draws attention to the importance of integrating artisanal traditions and sustainability of spinning and knitting. Later, Gonçalo Gama will use the palm and its manufacturing techniques, or weaving, in the creation of objects.

In this exhibition, jewelery will also be highlighted. Artist Bernadette Martins will exhibit for the first time the “Frágil Jewelery”, a porcelain jewelry brand, in dialogue with other materials such as silver, copper, brass and glass. Sara Monteiro da Esmirna will also present her latest creations in Izmir inspired by natural landscapes.

André Silva Sancho's brand, “Kakao Ceramics”, influenced by the Japanese wabi-sabi aesthetic, will also be on display at MAR Shopping Algarve. Leni Farenzena will also show some of her pieces with local materials inspired by nature from “ForNature Design” and Marta Lourenço will bring proposals from “Pure Beloved by Nature”, a brand of clothing for children and herbal pillows, handcrafted with 100% natural materials.
