Tomás Cabreira Group of Schools and Ciência Viva na Escola Club celebrate Earth Day

“I Thematic Week – Mar Adentro” has activities until April 28

The Directorate of the Tomás Cabreira School Group and the Ciência Viva na Escola Club organize, from April 20th to 28th, the “I Thematic Week – Mar Adentro” and this Friday, April 22nd, the Earth Day celebrations will be marked with the holding of the “III Student Conference on Adaptations to Climate Change”. 

This is an initiative that takes place within the scope of the application approved by the Regional Operational Program of the Algarve, included in a program that includes workshops/science fair, OpenLab activities, lectures, awareness-raising actions, exhibitions, exhibition of work carried out by students, field and sports activities.

According to the Algarve Regional Coordination and Development Commission, this project aims to «create and continue a space in which students themselves can disseminate/explain the works presented and/or promote activities designed/created by them, making the community known educative their projects and thus reinforcing competences in the area of ​​communication».

The Algarve Regional Operational Program mobilized European Funds for the establishment and operation of Ciência Viva Clubs in 17 School Groups, «contributing to the enhancement of knowledge in the scientific and
technologies, and the experimental teaching of science, at all levels of education, with a view to promoting school success».
