Showing that «savings can be fun and, above all, that it is for everyone», was the objective of a creative savings session promoted by MOJU and PEANUTS Lifestyle, which took place in the office that the youth association has in Bairro Fundo Fomento de Housing, in Olhão, intended for the neighborhood community.
The initiative was promoted within the scope of the Healthy Neighborhoods Program and had eight participants.
«Initially, icebreaker activities were carried out for the participants to get to know each other and gain confidence with the group. Throughout the session, various dynamics were held, covering topics such as choosing ingredients for the preparation of an economic recipe, tasting white label products, usually cheaper, compared to original brand products, and exploring a table to support financial management", according to MOJU.
There were also “moments of sharing and laughter that delighted all the participants”. The session ended “with a moment of evaluation and introspection, where positive comments and the desire for more moments like that reigned”.
PEANUTS Lifestyle «is a social project that grew in the digital realm, where it grew. Its main objective is to foster creativity, knowing how to choose, sustainability, financial education, savings and resilience».
The Neighborhood Office is operating in a space provided by the Municipality of Olhão, in the Fundo Fomento à Habitação neighborhood, and is completely free of charge for users. This is one of the activities of the Bairro Cool Project, which is being implemented within the scope of the Healthy Neighborhoods Program.
The Healthy Neighborhoods Program is a public program, of a participatory nature, to improve health conditions, well-being and quality of life in vulnerable territories. Above all, it aims to give some power, in the sense of “being able to do it”, to communities, residents and people or organizations involved in vulnerable territories. The Healthy Neighborhoods Program is financed by the Recovery and Resilience Fund – European Union, the Environmental Fund and the Ministry of Health.
