MAR Shopping Algarve promotes next weekend, March 12th and 13th, a new responsible adoption campaign, in partnership with Animal Rescue Algarve (ARA). The initiative will take place next to the main entrance, between 10 am and 00 pm, and it is possible to see some animals that are candidates for adoption.
This is the fifth action with this association, which aims to find families for rescued animals. As in previous editions, this initiative has a strong pedagogical component, since, more than a space to find a pet, candidate families are invited to learn about the history of each animal, as well as aspects related to abandonment. animal, avoiding impulsive adoption.
For Ana Antunes, director of MAR Shopping Algarve, “the periodic repetition of this initiative is very important, because it reveals our commitments, whether to publicize the important work of associations such as ARA, or to contribute to finding new families for these animals. Unfortunately, the incomprehensible phenomenon of animal abandonment is not over and our obligation, as a pet friendly space, is to sponsor these happy encounters”.
ARA is an association whose mission is to collect, rehabilitate and find new families for dogs and cats, prioritizing the abandoned or neglected.
Since 2018, the association has a new shelter that has 48 state-of-the-art and environmentally friendly kennels, which can accommodate up to 100 dogs. It also has a cattery with capacity for about 30 cats.
