Aníbal Neto: Former Agrarian Post of Tavira could be a «genetic improvement center» for the Algarve breeds

Testimony of this farmer is the 5th of a collection of 7 that the Citizens' movement for CEAT and Urban Gardens is carrying out

Aníbal Neto, agronomist, farmer and farmer of Algarve churra sheep, is the protagonist of the fifth video testimony of the documentary project “Histórias do Posto Agrário”, promoted by the Citizens Movement by CEAT and Hortas Urbanas de Tavira.

This farmer recalls, in yet another video, the support that cow breeders received from technicians at the former Agrário Post, in Tavira, namely for the improvement of breeds, but not only. He especially remembers Senhor Joaquim “who was very important here”.

«It's a shame to see what was once an Animal Selection Center, today being just weeds and plates», laments Aníbal Neto.

But the Algarve churra sheep farmer still talks about his “dream”: “to make a genetic improvement center here” for the Algarve breeds.

This farmer's testimony is the 5th of a collection of 7 that the Citizens' Movement for CEAT and Urban Gardens is carrying out on the Posto Agrário de Tavira, which has been in existence for 95 years.
