Portimão shows drawings of “(a)Riscar o Património 2022”

At the Manuel Teixeira Gomes House

Eight quick drawings made as part of the project “(a)Riscar o Património 2022” will be on display in an exhibition that will be on display between the 21st of January and the 25th of February at Casa Manuel Teixeira Gomes, in the riverside area of Portimão.

The works that make up this show were «executed at the whim of the moment, in notebooks of different dimensions and characteristics, capturing places, environments, people, moments and monuments, always under the inspiration of heritage, a transversal theme to the project in everything that it contains of diverse and universal», according to the Portimão Chamber.

The challenge was launched by the Directorate-General for Cultural Heritage, the entity that promotes the project “(a)Riscar o Património 2022”, with the support of UrbanSketchers Portugal.

This is «an innovative initiative that is based on the (re)cognition of the Portuguese heritage through design, in a playful and relaxed component, and encompasses an increasingly larger number of actors, assuming a progressively broader aspect and closer to the communities , thanks to the activities that have been multiplying».

Passing through Portimão, «the exhibition fulfills the essential purpose of disseminating, a little throughout the country, the result of this creative appropriation of cultural heritage through design, in this case in collaboration with the Integrated Master in Architecture of ISMAT – Instituto Superior Manuel Teixeira Gomes, based in the city, and the Algarve group of UrbanSketchers».

Whether for the variety of locations and themes represented, or for the diversity of graphic records, unique in their multiplicity of colors, traits, approaches and supports, this exhibition evokes, according to the promoters, «the extraordinary richness of the world around us and our own ability to interpret and challenge reality: and is, for that reason, captivating for all audiences».

Casa Manuel Teixeira Gomes is open from Monday to Friday, from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm and from 14:30 pm to 16:30 pm.
