The musical show “Elas e o Jazz”, with Joana Machado, Marta Hugon and Mariana Norton, will take the stage at the Carlos do Carmo Auditorium, in Lagoa, on January 29, at 21:30 pm.
Joana Machado, Marta Hugon and Mariana Norton, «three singers, friends and accomplices», crossed paths at the Hot Clube de Portugal school, first as students and then as teachers and now they are «together on stage to share the love for jazz and for the songs that made its history».
«They developed distinct and solid projects, collaborating at times, and each one composing or writing their own repertoire. One day, between drinks and music, they revisited their favorite standards and their infinite possibilities and the desire to return home arose. The home of jazz musicians made up of composers such as Cole Porter, Irving Berlin, George Gershwin, Richard Rogers, Jerome Kern or Harold Arlen».
Accompanied by a luxury trio, with João Pedro Coelho on piano, Bernardo Moreira on double bass and André Sousa Machado on drums, ELAS «recreate the always contemporary universe of Broadway musicals and New York jazz clubs», in a show that, more than a visit to the classics, «it is a musical narrative told in three different voices, but always made of emotion».
Tickets cost 10 euros (20% discount with cultural passport, Lagoa Social card or Rota do Petisco 2021 Passport) and are already on sale at online ticket office, at Fnac, Worten and at the ticket offices of Auditorio Carlos do Carmo and Balcão Único of the Municipality of Lagoa.
