The Municipality of Monchique will have a budget of around 21,6 million euros in 2022. The construction of the Centro de Meios Aereos, the project for the Multipurpose Space or the Local Housing Strategy are some of the priorities.
After being approved by the Chamber, the document also passed, on the 7th of January, in the Municipal Assembly, with 12 votes in favor and 6 abstentions.
According to the municipality, “people/housing, health, education, civil protection, vehicles, machinery and equipment, buildings, infrastructure and roads/road network are the main areas of investment for the next year of governance”.
«The improvement and paving of the road network (roads); the replacement of signs, the restoration of the São Sebastião car park, the revision of the PDM, the local housing strategy, the construction of the Centro de Meios Aéreos, the rehabilitation of the EB 2,3 Manuel de Nascimento and the project for the Space Multiusos de Monchique are some examples of this executive's priorities and that reflect the solid foundations of the investment proposed by the municipality», says the City Council.
The municipal executive also maintains its commitment to administrative modernization, digitalization, energy efficiency and the environment, as well as other Great Plan Options «with emphasis on the review of the project for the Casa do Povo de Monchique (conducting an agreement with the Social Security Institute), for the Monchique Interpretive Center (Project) and Life Relict (Adelfeiras) and for water supply and sanitation».
