The Vila do Bispo Fire Department has, since the beginning of the year, a second Permanent Intervention Team (EIP), made up of five elements.

The creation of this team, formalized with the signing of a collaboration protocol between the Vila do Bispo Chamber, the National Emergency and Civil Protection Authority and the Humanitarian Association of Volunteer Firefighters of Vila do Bispo, aims to improve the efficiency of the conditions of prevention and assistance in the face of accidents and catastrophes that occur in the municipality.

The «EIPs aim to fulfill missions within the scope of Civil Protection, and their members are characterized by high specialization, with skills in different valences to act in different scenarios», explains the Vila do Bispo City Council.

This second team, in operation since the beginning of the year, as with the first, will have the salaries of its elements reimbursed by 50% by the City Council, with the remainder being reimbursed by the National Authority for Emergency and Civil Protection.

The ceremony, which took place at the Fire Station, was attended by Rute Silva, mayor of Vila do Bispo, Carlos Costa, president of the Humanitarian Association of Volunteer Firefighters of Vila do Bispo, Richard Marques, District Operational Commander of the National Authority and Civil Protection, Emerson Gomes, coordinator of the Municipal Civil Protection Service of Vila do Bispo, and José Pedro, commander of the Vila do Bispo Fire Department.
