The exhibition “Pelos Trilhos do Algarvensis”, by Rui Gregório, will be inaugurated on the 15th of February, at the Municipal Museum of Archeology, in Albufeira.

This is an art exhibition within the scope of GeoPalcos, a cultural intervention program in the territory of the aspiring Geopark Algarvensis Loulé-Silves-Albufeira, which aims to create innovative events in this municipality, marking the intersection of various artistic disciplines, but also the communication between cultural agents, local people and the population that usually visits the Algarve.

The photographs come to life through the sound piece “Percurso – 1 386 Km2”, composed specifically for the exhibition by maestro Armando Mota.

Rui Gregório, a native of Albufeira and resident in Paderne for several years, set out on the way and for about a year revisited landscapes, walked trails, where he discovered new places, fossils that before were nothing more than stones and that have now acquired a new meaning. .

The result is a set of stunning images that tell the story of the various places that his lens captured, casting a new look at the territory, namely the Paderne and Ferreiras areas, which are part of the aspiring Algarvensis Geopark.

Born in Albufeira and resident in Paderne, Rui Gregório divided his education between the cities of Porto, where, in 2004, he completed his degree in Art and Communication at the Escola Superior Artística do Porto, and Tomar, where, in 2011, he attended the Master's in Applied Photography at the Higher School of Technology of Tomar.

In 2015, he attended the Graphic Design Technician course at the Escola de Tecnologias Inovação e Criação do Algarve. At the artistic level, since 2001 he participates in collective and individual exhibitions at national and international level.

The exhibition is accompanied by the sound piece «Percurso 1 381Km2», with which maestro Armando Mota intends to «create various atmospheres so that visitors can find and feel the tones, emotions, sounds of the aspiring Geopark along its route ».

This exhibition will be open until the 14th of May and can be visited from Tuesday to Saturday, from 9:30 am to 17:30 pm.
