Tens of users of the Health Center of Almancil were gathered this Saturday morning, the 11th, in front of that Health Extension, to demand improved access to health care for the population of this parish.
At issue is the enormous difficulty of users of this Health Extension in accessing an appointment and the treatments they need.
During the protest, there were several reports that prove the growing difficulty in accessing a consultation, "there are situations in which the wait goes on for months and months without any response", stresses the Commission of Users.
In these interventions, in addition to their dissatisfaction with the situation, users also expressed “their support for the initiative and willingness to make their contribution to help give strength to this just struggle for the right of all to quality health care, according to enshrines article 64 of the Constitution of the Portuguese Republic».
In addition to a request for a meeting with the Health Center management to analyze the situation and problems with access to health care that the population of Almancil is facing, it was also decided to hold a petition addressed to the Algarve Regional Health Administration and to ACES Central – Grouping of Health Centers of the Central Algarve.
This action came from the initiative of the Commission of Users of the National Health Service (SNS) and had the support and participation of the MUSP - Movement of Users of Public Services, which welcomed the initiative, realizing that, all over the country and also during this week, there were several initiatives aimed at defending the NHS.
