Number of active Covid-19 cases remained stable in the Algarve in the last week

The number of active Covid-19 cases in the Algarve has remained stable throughout this week, according to the weekly situation released this Friday, the 10th, by the District Civil Protection Commission of Faro. Since last Monday, when the last update was released, the number of active infections increased from 3.339 to 3.341, that is, just two more.

According to data on the epidemiological situation, 1.208 new cases of Covid-19 were detected between 17:00 pm on Sunday, 5 December and 13:00 pm yesterday, Thursday, 9th.

In the same period, there were 15 deaths due to the disease.

 

 

Since the start of the pandemic, there have been 50.645 confirmed cases of Covid-19 in the Algarve. 46.766 people have recovered from the disease (1.191 since the last update), while 538 people have died from the virus.

As for hospitals in the Algarve, there are now 85 people admitted by Covid-19, three fewer than at the beginning of the week. The number of patients in Intensive Care rose (+3) to 23, with 13 ventilated (one less).

 

 

With regard to active cases by municipality, Portimão has the most (616), followed by Faro (524), Loulé (446) and Albufeira (334).

This is followed by Silves (287), Lagoa (264), Lagos (273), Olhão (234), Tavira (126), São Brás de Alportel (64), Vila Real de Santo António (61) Monchique (40), Vila do Bispo (35), Aljezur and Castro Marim (17) and Alcoutim (3).

Finally, the number of contacts under surveillance dropped, from 3.129 to 3.093 (-36).
