Millions of the PRR will make the Lagos Business Reception Area greener and digital

The Lagos Business Area is located in an area with a markedly forest/rural environment, in the vicinity of the Barão de S. João Forest Perimeter

The Business Reception Area of Lagos is part of the final set of infrastructures that will be supported by the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR) for the conversion into greener and more digital places, announced this Monday, 27 December, the Commission of Regional Coordination and Development (CCDR) of the Algarve.

The application of the Municipality of Lagos was, in the region, the only one with an evaluation of the project's merit and was positioned within the limit of operations to be financed for the whole country.

According to the CCDR, funding will be given to Lagos of around 4,14 million euros.

"The planned interventions fall under the fields of production and storage of energy from renewable sources intended for self-consumption and Renewable Energy Communities, sustainable mobility (electric), coverage with 5G communication solutions and active measures to prevent and protect against fires,” he adds.

The application presented by the Municipality of Lagos «demonstrated that it has the capacity» to supply the consumption needs of companies located in the Business Area.

As for sustainable (electric) mobility, the installation of at least 14 individual charging points (2 per 100 workers) is foreseen, at the service of the 84 companies installed there and their workers.

The Lagos Business Area is located in an area with a markedly forest/rural environment, close to the Barão de S. João Forest Perimeter.

«The SEA does not yet have any type of global fire prevention mechanism, so the interventions planned to reduce the risk of fire are quite diversified and form an interconnected set of “smart” solutions that can be replicated to other SEAs in the country” , says the CCDR
