Chef Rui Sequeira joins Hans Neuner and other friends at Alameda's birthday dinner

Most dishes are based on products from the region

An “Entre Amigos” dinner, in which three renowned chefs and a bartender join the Head from the house Rui Sequeira, will celebrate the third anniversary of the Alameda restaurant, in Faro, on Wednesday, the 22nd.

Rui Sequeira, from the Algarve, owner and head chef at Alameda, invited the Heads Hans Neuner, responsible for Ocean, a 2 Michelin star restaurant, Carlos Afonso, owner of the Lisbon restaurant O Frade, and the Head pastry chef Márcio Baltazar, who were his colleagues during the years he worked at Ocean, to help cook dinner.

The menu includes dishes based on regional products, whether fresh fish and seafood, or, for example, Monchique sauce, the rice pudding typical of this mountain council.

«This anniversary marks the beginning of the “Entre Amigos” dinners, an event that I intend to hold regularly, where Alameda will host the friendships that develop in this very challenging and creative area in which we work», says Rui Sequeira.

"We want it to be a moment of experiences in terms of flavours, products and techniques, where we promote sharing and union between professionals and, above all, we provide a unique experience to our customers", he adds.

This experience starts with chicken offal, nuts and mushrooms, tuna tartar, shiso leaf and palm oil, and puntilita, the entries to be served at dinner, which are in charge of Guilherme Sousa, Fausto Fabri and Francisco Matias, members of the Alameda team.

«Then, chef Carlos Afonso will prepare two dishes in which tuna and oysters from the Ria Formosa will be highlighted. Also in fish dishes, the Head Rui Sequeira will make a ray carbonara, before presenting his black pig, Monchique rice black pudding and chestnuts», according to Alameda.

The desserts on this special menu will be in charge of Hans Neuner and Márcio Baltazar, who will prepare «a curd cheese, Madeira cherry and walnuts from Trás-os-Montes, followed by, by Carlos Afonso, a creamed goat's milk ».

To harmonize these gastronomic proposals, there are cocktails created by Wilson Pires, Inédit Estrella beer and wines such as Poças, Filipa Pato, and Quinta do Piloto, «a perfect pairing for the chefs' creations'.

The “Entre Amigos” dinner costs 89,90 euros per person, with wine pairing included. Reservations can be made by calling 289824831, with prepayment to be made at the time of booking.
