Quarteira Parish Council installs a shelter for cats at the Hilton hotel

Initiative took place within the scope of the “7 Lives Project”

Last Thursday, November 18th, the Quarteira Parish Council installed a shelter for 10 cats at the Hilton Vilamoura As Cascatas hotel.

This initiative took place within the scope of the “7 Vidas Project”.

For Telmo Pinto, president of the Parish Council of Quarteira, "this is proof that synergies between private and public entities happen."

"Our mission continues and this is a great example of how we can work together for the benefit of the community, ensuring animal welfare and sensitizing the population to the problem of abandoning animals," he added.

According to Nuno Braga Lopes, director of this hotel, the «project is in line with the activities and initiatives of Sustainability and Social Responsibility that Hilton Vilamoura has been developing».

«On the one hand, it allowed us to collaborate with SOS Animal and the Parish Council, strengthening ties and synergies with the community; on the other hand, we were able to meet the expectations of many of our employees, who were interested in the well-being of the 10 animals that lived in the resort and were concerned about their future. Now we also have an opportunity to involve our customers, especially the younger ones, through the Kids Club activities, and make them aware of the daily routines of taking care of pets», he adds.

“This is just a tiny part of the effort that is needed to help the animals in the community. Above all, we have to share our testimony: starting with the positive impact that this initiative had on the union of the Hotel team, around a common cause», he concludes.
