André Bandeira is the next man in the pipe organs of Tavira and Faro

Different programs for different bodies and churches

Organist André Bandeira will play the pipe organ installed in the high choir of the Church of Santiago de Tavira, on Friday, the 19th, in another concert of the Algarve Organ Festival.

In this medieval church, built in the second half of the XNUMXth century, there will be the opportunity to listen to preludes, fugues, choirs, sonatas, minuets, offertories and tientos, by composers from different eras, geographies and musical influences, namely Peyer, Pachelbel, Sheidemann, Scheidt , Seixas, Dandrieu, Galuppi and Bruna.

The following day, November 20, André Bandeira will be at the pipe organ of Igreja do Carmo in Faro, for a new solo performance. Technical, virtuous, calming and contemplative works from the 5th to XNUMXth centuries will be performed, with a XNUMXth tone battle at the end, to close the concert to the brilliant and festive sound of the royal trumpet.

The concerts take place at 21 pm and are free to enter.

André Bandeira began his musical training at the Liturgical Music Course of the Diocese of Porto, where he studied Organ with Rosa Amorim and, later, with Paulo Alvim at the Porto Music Conservatory.

Under the guidance of professors Domingos Peixoto and Edite Rocha, he completed a Degree in Music Teaching at the University of Aveiro (pre-Bologna) and a Master's Degree in Performance dedicated to the organ work by Flor Peeters with the highest rating in the Final Recital. Participated in Masterclasses with renowned international organists.

As a soloist, he has performed throughout the country and abroad. In addition to teaching at the School of Music in Perosinho, he is also a professor of Organ, Accompaniment and Improvisation at the Conciliar Seminary in Braga and at the Conservatory of Music in Porto.

He has been an organist at the Church of Cedofeita (Porto) since 2011, having been appointed titular organist in 2021.
