São Brás took an "important step towards animal welfare" with new dog park

The São Brás de Alportel dog park, a project proposed and chosen by the São Brasenses under the 2019 Participatory Budget, was inaugurated this Monday, October 4th, to mark the National Animal Day.

Located next to the Maintenance Circuit of the North Circular of São Brás de Alportel, next to the Rotunda do Barro, it is a leisure space «equipped with training areas and equipment» that constitutes «another important step towards the well-being. being animal», says the municipality.

The work, entirely carried out by the municipal services and installed on municipal land, «attempts to simultaneously create a leisure space, with comfort and safety for pets and their caregivers who accompany them».

The inaugural plaque was unveiled by Vítor Guerreiro, Mayor, Councilor David Gonçalves, responsible for animal welfare, and by the two proponents of this project in the Participatory Budget process, Rita Luís and Vânia Martins.

The mayor of São Brás de Alportel explained, during the inauguration ceremony, that «this is a project that is in line with municipal policies aimed at the animal cause that in São Brás de Alportel is worked by the municipality, but also by volunteers and partner associations like Coração 100 Dono», highlights the municipality.

"We hope that this space is cherished and properly used by São Brasenses", said the mayor, recalling that there is capacity to expand the park if necessary.

This is «a project by and for São Brasenses and had the participation of a group of children from the “Kids Center” activities center who «helped to decorate and give color to this park, which is also intended to be an instrument. at the service of environmental education», concludes the municipality of São Brás de Alportel.
