German young man breaks his leg after falling on a cliff at Algar Seco (Carvoeiro)

Yesterday, late afternoon

A 17-year-old German boy who fell on a cliff in Algar Seco, Praia do Carvoeiro, and broke his leg, was rescued by elements of the Ferragudo Life-Saving Station, yesterday, Thursday, in the late afternoon.

The fall occurred when the victim was trying to climb the cliff and resulted in a fractured right leg.

The alert for the accident was given at 18:08 pm, with elements of the Ferragudo Life-Saving Station and the Local Command of the Maritime Police in Portimão, as well as the Lagoa Volunteer Firefighters and INEM.

«When they arrived at the scene, the elements of the Ferragudo Life-Saving Station immobilized and rescued the victim, with the collaboration of the Maritime Police, the Lagoa Volunteer Fire Brigade and INEM, and transported the young man by sea to the Ferragudo pier”, according to the National Maritime Authority.

The young man was taken to the Hospital de Portimão, "in a stable and conscious state", by an ambulance of the Lagoa Fire Department.
