Great shows return to the Municipal Auditorium of Olhão with Paulo de Carvalho

Concert will take place this Saturday, October 23rd

The great musical shows are back at the Municipal Auditorium of Olhão from this Saturday, October 23, with the artist Paulo de Carvalho, at 21 pm, who will interpret themes known to the public.

«A unavoidable name in the history of Portuguese music», Paulo de Carvalho will present his most recent album entitled Duets and published in 2017, which included re-recordings of its most emblematic themes, in which “it is accompanied by renowned names but also by voices of the new generation of national music”, begins by saying the municipality of Olhão.

It was precisely a summary of his journey of more than half a century that he recovered in 2017, through the edition of Duets, which included re-recordings of its most emblematic themes, accompanied by renowned names such as Carlos do Carmo, Ivan Lins, Camané, José Cid, Tozé Brito or Rui Veloso. A new generation such as Miguel Araújo, Agir, António Zambujo, Aurea or Diogo Piçarra are also part of it.

Author, composer and performer with over 55 years of career, Paulo de Carvalho recorded at Abbey Road Studios with the London Symphony Orchestra in 1999.

He sang with Ivan Lins and won twice the Festival da Canção, the last in 1974 with the theme And after goodbye, a song that would become one of the passwords for the revolution of the 25th of April 1974 and that few Portuguese will be unaware of.

With many distinctions and awards won, he was decorated in 2009 with the Official Grade of the Order of Liberty and in 2012 he received the Gold Medal of the City of Lisbon. That same year the book was published Past – Present, a trip to the Universe by Paulo de Carvalho.

Tickets for the concert are now on sale at the Olhão Municipal Auditorium box office, on the website of the Ticketline and its distribution network.

According to the current guidelines of the Directorate-General for Health, the use of masks and hand disinfection are mandatory inside the Auditorium.
