Feira de São Martinho is back to liven up Portimão

From the 5th to the 14th of November, Feira de São Martinho returns to the Parque de Feiras e Exposições de Portimão for its 358th edition. 

After a year of interregnum due to Covid-19, the traditional event, which dates back to 1662, is back in Portimão.

There will be no shortage of traditional roasted chestnuts, snacks, popcorn, bread with sausage and other snacks in the bars and taverns on the premises, as well as various entertainment spaces with various games, bumper cars and carousels.

This year's edition will once again have two thematic dates, the first of which is aimed at children and young people (10 November – Youth Day), while the closing of the fair will be dedicated to families (14 November – Family Day). In both cases, in participating spaces, visitors will benefit from special prices, with the guarantee of a lot of entertainment.

«As usual, Portimão Arena will host a group of car brands, which are firmly committed to this popular event to exhibit and present their vehicles, in a mixed model of new and used vehicles, which capture the attention of visitors. Lovers of two wheels will not be forgotten yet, who will also be able to appreciate some of the models on display», says the Câmara de Portimão.

On the first day, the São Martinho Fair can be visited from 16:00 pm to 01:00 am, on the 6th it will be open from 10:00 am to 1:00 am, from 7:11 am to 10:00 am it opens from 24:00 am to 12:13 am and on the 10th and 00th it will receive visitors from 01:00 am to 14:10 am. On the last day (00) the fair will open from 24 am to midnight.

In terms of access to the space, during periods when the fair is open to the public, the southern entrance to the Fairs and Exhibitions Park is passable, through the riverside area of ​​Portimão, next to the railway bridge, in an area where there are several spaces and the usual north entrance, for those coming from Largo Gil Eanes or from Cardosas.

Another way to get to Feira de São Martinho will be via the Vai e Vem urban transport network, which has stops at Cardosas, Parque de Feiras e Exposições and Largo do Dique. here

Due to the assembly and disassembly work of the fair, and for the safety of exhibitors and visitors, residents who usually travel on foot or by bicycle through the Parque de Feiras e Exposições de Portimão, to connect to the riverside area of ​​the city, are informed. that passage will be prohibited from October 29th to November 18th, with pedestrian access being authorized during the period in which the fair will take place, subject to the opening hours.

In November, there will be no place for the monthly market, which will return on the 6th of December, nor the Feira de Velharias, which will be back on the 5th and 19th of the same month.

During the 358th edition of Feira de S. Martinho, attendees must comply with the rules of the Directorate-General for Health in force, relating to Covid-19.
