DiVaM continues to animate Algarve monuments in October

8th edition of DiVaM has the theme “Heritage, Community and Inclusion”

The DiVaM (Stimulation and Enhancement of Monuments in the Algarve) program will continue, from 8 to 10 October, at the Sagres Fortress and at the Roman Ruins of Milreu. The closing of the exhibition “Oficinas no Cabo do Mundo” or the conference of In Situ Amateurs are some ofthe proposals of the cultural program of the Regional Directorate of Culture of the Algarve.

 The photographic exhibition “Oficinas no Cabo do Mundo”, which has been open to the public since 10 August, at the Fortaleza de Sagres, will close this Friday, 8 October, at 15 pm.

The exhibition will then move to the Cândido Guerreiro and Condes de Alte Museum Pole, where it will remain until the end of 2021. The project, based on an original idea by Isa Catarina Mateus, is promoted by Associação In–Loco.

“Oficinas no Cabo do Mundo” is a project that involves young people who attend the Professional Tourism Technician Course of the Cândido Guerreiro Professional School and seniors residing in the parish of Alte, invited by you, to embark on a journey of discovery, exploration, of exchange of knowledge and artistic creation about the Fortaleza de Sagres.

The event will end with a get-together/tasting, with Mediterranean influences, open to all project partners. For more information you can send an email to [email protected]

Also on October 8, at 17:30 pm, the Roman Ruins of Milreu, in Estoi, will host another lecture of the cycle Amateurs in Situ – The Ancient World seen by those who love it – 6th edition, with the theme “Music and musical occasions in Roman culture”.

The initiative will feature Fuensanta Garrido Domené (Universidad de Córdoba), organized by Cívis – Association for the Deepening of Citizenship

The occasions when the ancient Romans used different ways of making music, from the human voice, to the most complex and sophisticated musical instruments of the time, will be revisited.

The project PA´me, PA´ti… Heritage, which is taking place in the Roman Ruins of Milreu, in Estoi, promotes the Recreation workshop of the Roman Villa of Milreu through drawing, on October 9th, at 10:30 am, with Fátima Cardoso, Paulo Viegas, Humberto Veríssimo and Patrícia Dores.

On Sunday, October 10th, at 17 pm, the AGA- Associação de Guitarra do Algarve presents, in Fortaleza de Sagres, the Sound Intemporais project.

This initiative presents Duo Guirimbadu, with a repertoire of ethnic-inspired melodic improvisations, in an intimate identification of African and European matrix, with Eudoro Grade on classical guitar, and Vasco Ramalho on marimba.
