Algarve operational program allocates 2,2 million to create employment in the social sector

The Algarve's operational program will support, with 2,2 million euros, the creation of jobs in the social sector. The submission of applications takes place until the 24th of September.

+CO3SO Employment is a support system for employment and entrepreneurship, established by the Ministry of Territorial Cohesion, in collaboration with the Ministry of Labour, Solidarity and Social Security, «which supports the creation of companies and jobs» for « the realization of social entrepreneurship projects that create social value», explains the Algarve Regional Coordination and Development Commission.

IPSS, associations and foundations, cooperatives, mutual associations, mercies and other entities of the social economy that have projects to strengthen their skills or new responses in the social and health and well-being areas can compete for this competition.

With an endowment of 2,2 million euros, 80% of which comes from the European Social Fund and 20% from the Social Security budget, “the funding will be provided in the form of a non-refundable grant and will cover salaries for 12 months. and contributory expenses of employers, plus 40% for other costs associated with the creation of permanent jobs».

According to the regulation, each employer can benefit from a maximum of 200 thousand euros from the European fund.

Furthermore, projects that include investments arising from the fulfillment of obligations provided for in agreements, concession contracts or association with the State (Central or Local Administration) are not eligible.
