“Laboratório de Aprendizagem” is installed at EB1 Dr. Alberto Iria with support from the Rotary of Olhão

New room will enable the creation of innovative teaching and learning scenarios through the provision of resources, training and sharing of good practices

The Dr. Alberto Iria Basic School, in Olhão, will have a “Learning Laboratory”, in an investment of five thousand euros, with the collaboration protocol between the municipality, the Rotary Club of Olhão and the School Grouping having been signed last week. .

Through this educational project, the new room at EB1 Dr. Alberto Iria will enable «the creation of innovative teaching and learning scenarios through the provision of resources, training and sharing of good practices», begins by saying the municipality of Olhão.

«The aim is to create attractive educational environments, which favor the motivation, creativity and involvement of students with low interest in the school and difficulties in terms of school integration and success. These will be the main recipients of the new space, without ceasing to be available to other audiences, upon evaluation by the responsible team».

The protocol, signed by the three entities, establishes the conditions of partnership with a view to remodeling the basic infrastructure and improving the physical conditions of a classroom, as well as the acquisition of the equipment necessary for the installation of the Laboratory.

This space will consist of a multimedia space, a multipurpose space, an oriented work area, a playful place for informal learning and a place for relaxation.

The municipality of Olhão will contribute to the acquisition of equipment, which will be installed by the local Rotary Club and by the Dr. Alberto Iria Schools Group.

The Rotary club will also bear the cost associated with the remodeling of the classroom, provided by the School Group, including transport and installation of equipment.

The “Learning Laboratory” will have an interactive whiteboard, four desktop computers, two laptops, a video projector and a plasma screen television.

The multipurpose space will use furniture reconfigurable with informal furniture: study corners, audio devices and audiophones, books and ebooks, games (analog and digital), as well as reading material, information and research and an area dedicated to the practice of transcendental meditation.
