Covid-19: Algarve has another death and 70 cases

Across the country over 757 cases of infection were reported

The Algarve registers one more death and 70 new cases of Covid-19, according to the bulletin of this Friday, 24th of September, of the General Directorate of Health (DGS).

At the national level, one of the highlights of today's report is, once again, the drop in the number of active cases (-407) which are now 31.759.

This is due, in part, to the increase in those recovered (+1.155) to a total, since March 2020, of 1.015.927 people who have already managed to overcome the disease.

The number of deaths (+9) and new cases (+757) also led to this drop in data on infections still active.

These deaths were registered in Centro (4), Alentejo (2), Lisbon and Vale do Tejo (2) and Algarve (1).

As for new cases, the 757 today are divided into Lisbon and Vale do Tejo (277), North (213), Center (102), Algarve (70), Alentejo (55), Azores (25) and Madeira (15 ).

Admissions went down again, but less than has been the habit. There are now 410 people hospitalized (minus 2), 76 of them in intensive care (+1).

Regarding the risk matrix, the data were updated and are positive.

The incidence rate at the national level dropped to 127,3 cases of infection by Covid-19 per 100 inhabitants and to 129,7 cases, excluding the islands.

The R(t), the transmissibility index, rose slightly to 0,83, at national level, and to 0,82, taking into account only the mainland territory.

The contacts in surveillance are 28.287 (+52).
