Users of the Municipal Library of Vila do Bispo, between the 6th and 10th of September, will receive a gift book, as part of the International Literacy Day, which is marked on the 8th of September.
“Realities of life… with written truths” by Manuel José Rafael, “Popular poetry” by Maria Helena Rocha Fernandes, “Um Cabo Encantador” by Maria Catarina, “Life is a poetry” by Isabel Pires and “Por Terras D´Africa ” by Francisco Búzio Reis are the works of local authors that will be offered to all Library users throughout these five days.
This initiative resulted from a challenge launched to Vila do Bispo Council by the Portuguese Association for Adult Education and Training (APEFA) to join the national Adult Education initiative SMAL – September Month of Literacy and Literacy.
The International Literacy Day was created by Unesco in 1967 and aims to focus world attention on literacy learning in lifelong learning, with a main focus on young people and adults.
