Portimonense loses in the reception to Gil Vicente

It was a game with a second half full of confusion and yellow cards

Portimonense lost this afternoon, by 0-1, against Gil Vicente, in a game of the 2nd round of the I League played at Estádio Municipal de Portimão.

The first half always took place at a lukewarm pace, and in just 46 minutes, Portimonense had a real chance, with a free-kick for Gil Vicente, but the visiting defense pushed the ball away.

The second part would be quite different, marked by 5 yellow cards, three to Algarve players, the remaining two to gilistas.

This second half started with both teams showing a willingness to break the tie. After 51′, Fran Navarro took advantage of an inattention on the defensive side of Alvinegra and, in the frontal zone, shot with danger to Samuel's goal, but the ball went out near the right post.

Two minutes later, it was Portimonense's turn to try: with little angle, Lucas Fernandes shot at Gil Vicente's goal, for a safe defense by Kritciuk. In five minutes, Lucas Fernandes would try again, this time with a low shot, but the Gilista goalkeeper was not fooled.

And it ended up being Gil Vicente who opened the scoring, in the 60th minute, through Samuel Lino.

To try to hold the advantage, coach Ricardo Soares replaced two Gillist players shortly after: Bilel replaced Matheus Bueno, while Fujimoto was replaced by Murilo.

At 74′, and without being able to turn the result around, Paulo Sérgio decided to make changes in Portimonense: Lucas Fernandes left and Carlinhos joined, as well as Renato Júnior took the position of Aylton Boa Morte.

Seeing no changes, the Algarve coach made two more substitutions, at 85′, replacing Fali Candé for Angulo and Pedro Sá for Imbula. Gil Vicente also exhausted the replacements it was entitled to, first giving rest to the scorer of the only goal of the match, Samuel Lino, to enter Hackman, later exchanging Fran Navarro for Marcelo.

But despite the moves by both coaches, the match would end with the goal scored by the visitors and Portimonense's first defeat this season.

Since the game took place under temperatures that, in the sun, exceeded 40ºC, there were two breaks for hydration, at 31 and 76 minutes.

With this victory, Gil Vicente reaches 2nd place in the II Liga, with the same six points as captain Sporting and third Benfica, while Portimonense is, for now, 9th, with three points.
