Movie "Ramen Shop"

República 14, in Olhão, will screen the film “Ramen Shop” this Sunday, August 29, at 21 pm, as part of the “Há Cinema na República” initiative.

Written by Singaporean director Eric Khoo, the film tells the story of Masato, who lives in Takasaki, Japan, "where he runs a family restaurant very famous for the quality of its Ramen", says the press release sent to the newsrooms.

“One day, unexpectedly, the father dies and when rummaging through his things he finds an old notebook with photos and notes belonging to the mother, who died when he was a child”.

«Moved by the find, he decides to visit Singapore, the land of his ancestors, to rediscover what remains of his family. With the people he meets, Masato will learn stories that will help him understand his origins, while learning delicious recipes that will connect him to his ancestors».

This is "a poetic film in which food structures the story of a family", concludes Republic 14.

“Há Cinema na República” has the support of the Regional Directorate of Culture of the Algarve and the partnership of the Cineclube de Faro.
