Geopalcos takes “Música das Fontes” to Alte

Initiative will take place this weekend, 7th and 8th of August, in Alte (Loulé)

The festival “Música das Fontes”, starring artists Daniel Vieira and Renata Violetta and guests, will take place this weekend, 7 and 8 August, in Alte (Loulé), within the scope of Geopalcos Arte.Ciência.Natureza, inserted in the cultural program on the Bezaranha network.

The initiative, which will take place at the Alte fountains, from 10:00 am to 22:30 pm, includes two days of open-air concerts, some workshops with local artists (traditional dances, stories, plants, yoga) and a lecture on the traditional instruments of the Algarve.

«Water will be the unifying element of this meeting in which, in addition to being indispensable in our daily lives, it will serve as a setting for concerts but also as an inspiration for both music and the visual image of the event», says the local authority from Loulé.

Local folklore will also be presented – played, sung and danced – as an important part of the intangible heritage of this territory, as a way of «raising spectators and visitors' awareness of its beauty and the real danger of its disappearance».

«In the heart of nature, through the sounds and colors of water, the beauty of poetry, with vocal instruments, Portuguese guitar, viola, harp and lute, the aim is to create an emotional harmony with the natural environment».

Geopalcos Arte.Ciência.Natureza is «a cultural intervention program in the territory of the aspiring Geopark Algarvensis Loulé-Silves-Albufeira, which aims to create innovative events in these municipalities, marking the intersection of various artistic disciplines, but also communication between agents cultural, local people and the population that usually visit the Algarve during the summer», concludes the Municipality of Loulé.
