Study of immunity to Covid-19 in homes starts in Sagres with the presence of Ana Mendes Godinho

Serological study will be carried out on 5 employees and users of homes in the Algarve and Alentejo

The study of immunity to Covid-19 in nursing homes starts this Tuesday, August 17, at Santa Casa da Misericórdia in Vila do Bispo, in Sagres, at a time that will count with the presence of Ana Mendes Godinho, Minister of Labour, Solidarity and Social Security.

This serological study will analyze the immunity of the most vulnerable elderly who have been vaccinated and compare it with that of employees who were given the vaccine at the same time.

The serological study is voluntary and free of charge and will be carried out with a sample of 5 employees and users of households in the Algarve and Alentejo.

Promoted by the Government, under the integrated program of the Ministry of Labour, Solidarity and Social Security to support elderly homes due to the pandemic, the study is conducted by the Algarve Biomedical Center (ABC) and by the Champalimaud Foundation during the month of August. the results presented publicly in September.
