The photographic exhibition “Oficinas no Cabo do Mundo” will be open to the public, from 10 August to 8 October, at the Fortaleza de Sagres, in the municipality of Vila do Bispo, in a partnership between Associação In Loco and young people from Escola Profissional Cândido Warrior, by Alte (Loulé).
This exhibition «is an invitation to visit the Fortress through the eyes of the other, the way he saw and felt that space, how he discovered the faint lines, the ephemeral shadows, the details, the imperceptible nuances, the fleeting moments, paralyzing the movement , making the moment eternal, photographing in a unique and artistic way, producing unforgettable images and memories», says In Loco in a press release sent to the newsrooms.
The exhibition features photographs by Beatriz Duarte, Beatriz Pinção, Daniel Vieira, Daniela Rosa, Fátima Rodrigues, Francisco dos Santos, Gabriel Neves, Inácia de Jesus, Inês Pereira, Isabel Santos, João Carolo, Júlia Pontes, Luís Santos, Madalena Martins, Manuel Sequeira, Maria Alierte, Maria Amélia, Maria Nogueira, Marzenna Matuszewska, Paula Gião, Paula Martins, Pedro Martins, Ricardo Lopes, Ricardo Martins, Sorin Labau, Tatiana Gonçalves, Vitória Sequeira and Yanina Prisen.
The exhibition also has in the artistic team: Isa Catarina Mateus in production, conception, content and mediation, Bruno Cortes in design and Élio Vicente in support of communication.
The exhibition, which will be open to the public at the Fortaleza de Sagres until October 8, will be transferred to the Cândido Guerreiro and Condes de Alte Museum Center /(Loulé), where it will remain until the end of 2021.
In 2022, it will travel on a roaming regime through various locations in the parish of Alte, in the municipality of Loulé and in other places that may show an interest in receiving it.
“Oficinas no Cabo do Mundo” is a project that involves young people who attend the Professional Tourism Technician Course of the Cândido Guerreiro Professional School and seniors residing in the parish of Alte invited by you, «to embark on a journey of discovery, exploration, of exchange of knowledge and artistic creation about the Fortaleza de Sagres», explains In Loco.
"A trip that promotes the development of intergenerational relationships and complicity and motivates people to know, value, preserve and disseminate heritage", stresses the association.
The project, which arose from an original idea by Isa Catarina Mateus, is developed under the Program for the Promotion and Valorization of Monuments (DiVaM), of the Regional Directorate of Culture of the Algarve.
This is a project promoted in a partnership between Associação In Loco, the Parish Council of Alte, the Professional School of Alte, CIPRL, the Community Development and Animation Center of the Parish of Alte and the Casa do Povo of Alte/Youth Altense.
It also has the support of the Loulé City Council – Municipal Museum – Cândido Guerreiro and Condes de Alte Museological Pole, the Algarve Tourism Region and the International Federation of Film Clubs.
