Algarvio Amaro Antunes is the new leader of Volta a Portugal

The victory in the Volta a Portugal remains open

The Algarve rider Amaro Antunes (W52/FC Porto) is the new yellow jersey of the Volta a Portugal by bicycle, after the 8th stage played this Friday, August 13th, between Bragança and the top of the Larouco mountains (160,7 kilometers) ). 

The shot was won by Kyle Murphy (Rally Cycling) who timed 4 hours, 12 minutes and 6 seconds.

Carlos Oyarzun (Louletano-Loulé Concelho) still tried to win, but the cyclist from the United States of America even managed the second victory in this edition of the Volta.

Due to an attack by W52/FC Porto, commanded by Joni Brandão, Amaro Antunes gained time from the competition and won the yellow jersey.

Alejandro Marque (General-Tavira-Maria Nova Hotel Tuna) is second at 14 seconds and Frederico Figueiredo is in 3rd place at 18.

The victory in the Volta a Portugal remains open and this Saturday is the penultimate stage that promises to be important. The tirade begins in Boticas and only ends with the mythical climb to the top of Senhora da Graça (145,5 kilometers).
