Lagos supports the Algarve's Food Bank Against Hunger with 10 euros

Since 2008, Banco Alimentar has been part of the Local Council for Social Action of Lagos, regularly supporting 200 people

The Municipality of Lagos will award a subsidy of 10 thousand euros to the Associação Pró-Partilha e Inserção do Algarve, an entity that develops the activity of the Food Bank Against Hunger in the Algarve region.

This support aims to "share the operating costs of this structure, increase its logistical capacity and increase the quantity and variety of food available to households in situations of need and vulnerability", says the municipality.

Since 2008, the Food Bank Against Hunger has been part of the Local Council for Social Action of Lagos, regularly supporting two hundred people through four local social institutions.

The work of this institution is thus a complement, in terms of responses in the field, to the food support provided directly by the municipality to households with social support.

«In a particularly critical period, brought about by the impact of the pandemic, this social support network has thus strengthened its means to work with those in greatest need», concludes the municipality of Lagos.
