The public tender for the rehabilitation of the Municipal Auditorium of Portimão ended this Tuesday, 13 July, and the municipality will now analyze the proposals received.
The assumptions that served as the basis for the competition defended that the project should support an intervention that would transform the auditorium into a future “home” for local youth, being endowed with an important set of features, including a cybercafé, an auditorium, a study room and a multimedia studio, with the Ponto JÁ store also starting to function in this municipal facility, as well as a youth health office.
“Adequate conditions of accessibility for all users will also have to be guaranteed”, explains the municipality.
«For the collection of ideas and suggestions, a youth working group in the area of culture was consulted, composed of six young students with skills in the performing arts, namely in representation, theater, music, dance, visual arts and photography. This consultative group emerged within the scope of the Young Digital Assemblies, which in the current year have already had two sessions», he adds.
As a starting point for the public tender, «a rigorous survey was carried out on the needs in terms of arrangements and replacements, which should be taken into account in the contract project of the work, with emphasis on the removal and placement of a new canvas covering with added features of thermal and acoustic insulation, as well as the replacement of the seats in the audience and the repair of the stage's wooden floor».
In technical terms, and in addition to the re-waterproofing of the outdoor terraces, «the water supply networks, the air conditioning system and the electrical installations must also be replaced or repaired, as well as new lighting and apparatuses must be installed and the dressing rooms remodeled. and respective furniture, among other interventions, namely in terms of the execution of a new general painting on interior and exterior ceilings and walls».
