Algarve registered 10 more deaths and 2086 new cases of Covid-19 in the last week

Active cases are now 4457

There were ten more deaths and 2086 new cases of Covid-19 this past week, according to the weekly status report released this Friday, the 23rd, by the District Civil Protection Commission of Faro.

According to data on the epidemiological situation, up to 23:59 yesterday, the 22nd, and since the beginning of the pandemic, there have already been 30.577 confirmed cases of Covid-19 in the Algarve.

The deaths by Covid-19 that have occurred since March 2020 in the Algarve now amount to 377.

So far, and in cumulative terms, 25.743 people have recovered from the disease in the Algarve (1204 more since the 16th of July data).

Active cases have also risen over the past week and are now 4457 (872 more than 7 days ago).

By municipality, the status of active cases is as follows: Albufeira (883), Loulé (844), Faro (665), Portimão (663), Lagos (324), Olhão (311), Silves (251), Lagoa (185), São Brás de Alportel (86), Vila Real de Santo António (79), Tavira (73) , Vila do Bispo (32), Aljezur (24), Castro Marim (23), Monchique (9) and Alcoutim (5).

As for the Algarve hospitals, there are now 74 people hospitalized with Covid-19 (plus 5), of which 16 are in Intensive Care (the same as a week ago) and eight are ventilated (plus 2).

Finally, the number of contacts under surveillance rose, from 4769 to 5170 (+401).
