Albufeira, with 823 cases of Covid-19 per 100 inhabitants, is the region of the country, including the islands, which has the highest incidence rate at 14 days, according to an update this Friday, July 2, from the Direction -General of Health (DGS).

As was known since yesterday, this is one of the Algarve municipalities that registered more than 240 cases per 100 inhabitants in two consecutive weekly assessments, similarly to Loulé (625 cases per 100) and Olhão.

In all these municipalities there was a notorious worsening of the situation in the last seven days, taking into account that last Friday Albufeira had 494 cases, Loulé 287 and Olhão 245.

Even so, these are far from being the only municipalities in the Algarve region with more than 240 cases per 100 inhabitants in the previous 14 days.

São Brás de Alportel (434), Faro (423), Lagos (423) and Silves (254) are also at this level and in a complicated situation, taking into account that there is already another assessment next Thursday.

These four municipalities have already "went down a step" yesterday - the first three are even further down -, having had more than 120 cases per 100 inhabitants.

The same happened to Portimão and Lagoa, which registered, respectively, 239 and 171 cases per 100.

There is yet another municipality on this level, that of Aljezur (125).

In other words, there are ten municipalities with more than 120 cases per 100 inhabitants.

Just below this "line" is Tavira (119). This is followed by Monchique (100), Castro Marim (97), Vila Real de Santo António (59) and Vila do Bispo (58).

Alcoutim, which has had zero incidence for months, is the only municipality in the Algarve with less than 20 cases per 100 inhabitants.
