Tavira awards municipal merit medal to the Irene Rolo Foundation

Recognition took place within the scope of the city's day commemorations

The Irene Rolo Foundation was recognized by the municipality of Tavira this farm, on the 24th of June, with the silver grade municipal merit medal, as part of the city's day commemorations.

“It has been 39 years at the service of the community, fulfilling its mission with people with disabilities and their families, as well as other vulnerable audiences,” says the Irene Rolo Foundation.

Within the scope of the activity of this institution, "different agents and local resources are mobilized in an integrated manner, ensuring a proximity intervention in the context of responses such as early intervention, rehabilitation and vocational training center, occupational activities center and residential home" .

The Irene Rolo Foundation also develops projects such as Alcatruz + or the Educarte project – CLDS 4G Local Contract for 4th Generation Social Development, aimed at children and young people in the municipality in situations of vulnerability.

«The recognition of the Foundation's work reinforces the motivation and mobilization capacity of its team and others stakeholders, in a period in which entities have to reinvent themselves, given the pandemic context that we are going through. But also, particularly, at a time when social policies in the area of ​​disability are changing, with new challenges in terms of the sustainability of these organizations», he concludes.
