Entrepreneurship and innovation. These themes were discussed this Thursday, June 23, in another Municipal RoadShow Restart Algarve, at the Municipal Library of Olhão.
Entrepreneurs, entrepreneurs and representatives of various public institutions participated in this roadshow, a joint initiative of the National Association of Young Entrepreneurs (ANJE), University of the Algarve (UAlg) and the Algarve Region Entrepreneurs Nucleus (NERA), which had the support of the Municipality of Olhão.
In the opening session of this initiative, the vice-president of the municipality Elsa Parreira highlighted the importance of holding this event «in such a troubled period in which the economic recovery of the Algarve, accompanied by a critical reflection on its future, becomes very important. for the definition of what one wants to pursue».
“Never has an initiative like this made so much sense, considering the period we are living in”, praised the mayor.
Topics such as the first steps of creating a business, financing systems for the creation of companies or good examples of relevant local entities in the area of entrepreneurship were mentioned on this day dedicated to what is best done or can be done in the municipality of Olhão.
João Navalho (Necton), Filipe Conceição (FulgurIt) and Jorge Luz (Itelmatis/[email protected]) were some of the participants, who spoke about their companies, based in Olhão and true success stories, encouraging others to become interested in entrepreneurship.
There was also talk of innovation and internationalization of the Algarve brands, the innovative projects competition “Inova Algarve 2.0” was presented and a portrait was made of the impact caused by anti-pandemic measures in the municipality of Olhão, identifying support strategies for the economic recovery.
The Autárquico Roadshow consists of a tour of the various municipalities in the Algarve region, in an institutional partnership with the municipalities, the Employment and Vocational Training Institute, the Support Institute for Small and Medium Enterprises and Investment and the Coordination and Development Commission Regional of the Algarve.
The visit to Olhão of the Autárquico Roadshow allowed for reduced face-to-face assistance, in accordance with the health regulations in force, but it was possible to follow the event through the Municipality's Youtube channel.
