The exhibition “Converging geosciences with art and communication. Paleoenvironmental reconstructions in Mozambique 252 MA” will be on display until June 17th at the University of Algarve Library (UAlg), on the Gambelas campus (Faro).

This is the result of a collaboration between researchers from the Center for Marine and Environmental Research and researchers and students from the School of Education and Communication, UAlg.

The images presented illustrate two distinct environments that existed 252 million years ago in Mozambique, before and after the largest mass extinction known in the geological record.

The images were prepared by the students of the 2nd year of the Animated Image course, taking into account the data obtained under the project Paleoclimatic cycles during the Permian-Triassic of the Karoo Supergroup in Mozambique: implications for a changing world, funded by the Foundation for Science and Technology.

The exhibition can be visited from Monday to Friday from 8:30 am to 20:00 pm and Saturday from 10:00 am to 16:00 pm.
