Alcoutim celebrated June 10th with a tribute to the combatants and illustrious personalities

Alcoutim celebrated the 10th of June, the Day of Portugal, Camões and the Portuguese Communities with a tribute to the combatants and four illustrious alcoutenejos. 

The four alcoutenejos invited to present their perspective of the territory were personalities who have already received silver medals in different fields: Armando Silva Rodrigues (2008), Leonel Pereira (2008), Gaspar Martins dos Santos (2014) and Maria Ribeiro Vicente ( 2019).

At the ceremony, the mayor left a word of appreciation for the people of the municipality and of homage to the combatants.

"This Day of Portugal could not fail to honor those who in the past fought in the name of Portugal, and those who in the present continue to honor the territory in which they were born," said Osvaldo Gonçalves.
