Portimonense draws to zero with Rio Ave

Algarvians haven't won in three games

Portimonense did not go beyond a 30-XNUMX draw with Rio Ave, this afternoon, at the Estádio Municipal de Portimão, in a game of the XNUMXth round of the I Liga.

In a well-fought game, but with the teams seeming comfortable with the void, the first big opportunity appeared on the side of the Algarve, on 24 minutes, when Fabrício received a long ball and shot first, but slightly to the side.

Eight minutes later, it was Rio Ave's turn to stay close to the goal: Guga scored with Júnior Brandão, but, a few meters from goal, he shot wide.

Portimonense did not stop trying to reach the opponent's goal: on 70 minutes, Aylton shot, but the goalkeeper Kieszek made a good save.

At 84′, it was the turn of Samuel Portugal, goalkeeper of the Algarve, to shine, when he managed to avoid the goal, after a strong shot and placed by Guga from the edge of the area.

In a somewhat aggressive tone, in disciplinary terms there is the expulsion of one of Portimonense's technical team, at 70′, as well as the yellow cards for Algarve players, first for Dener (at 89′) and then for Ewerton, now in the final compensation period, which was followed by a dangerous free-kick, which Rio Ave was unable to take advantage of.

Continuing without winning for three games, Portimonense is now in 10th place, with 34 points.
