The Orquestra Clássica do Sul, directed by conductor Rui Pinheiro, will present the concert “O Exotismo na Música de Debussy” at the Carlos do Carmo auditorium, in Lagoa, on May 22, at 19 pm.

The show will feature the participation of the Ensemble “Além Tejo”, and will feature a program with the plays “Two Spanish Preludes” (Arr. Bochmann), “Character Suite, about Debussy's Preludes” (Arr. Bochmann) and Petite Suite (Arr. Brakkee)'.

Tickets cost 8 euros (20% discount with cultural passport and Lagoa Social card at the city's ticket offices) and can be purchased online.

Places are limited considering the current DGS rules.

«In Debussy's work, music freed itself from the traditional canons, repetitions and rhythmic cadences. Disobeying the norms of classical harmony, he gave exceptional importance to isolated chords, timbres, pauses and the contrast between registers», described Câmara de Lagoa.

«All these characteristics configure a new conception of musical construction performed by Claude Debussy, which grant him a certain exoticism that will be evidenced in this concert», concluded the municipality.
