Alcoutim, Castro Marim, Monchique and São Brás de Alportel have zero incidence of Covid-19, at a time when Lagos is the only municipality in the Algarve with a prevalence of the disease above 120 cases per 100 thousand inhabitants, in 14 days, revealed this Friday, May 7th, the Directorate-General for Health (DGS).

In just one week, Aljezur dropped from 465 to 89 cases per 100 inhabitants, which allowed him, like Portimão, to move forward with the rest of the country in deconfinement.

In the case of the municipality of Aljezurense, you know the Sul Informação, this sharp drop in just seven days is due to the fact that many of the cases detected a few weeks ago are linked to mass testing of agricultural workers who live in the municipality.

In Portimão, the decline was not as sharp (from 159 cases/100 inhabitants to 56), but it was more than enough for this municipality to be subject to the same less strict rules as almost all municipalities in the country.

Vila Real de Santo António, which is no longer under notice, went down from 181 to 117, in a week.

Also Lagos, which has 145 cases per 100, had a decrease compared to last week (there were 171).

This is, by the way, the only council that is at risk of regressing into deconfinement, if the numbers do not improve.

Compared to last Friday, there were no changes in the municipalities with an incidence of less than 20 cases per 100 inhabitants. The difference is that, now, all of them, as already mentioned, have zero incidence.

In the range of 20 to 59,9 cases, there are Lagoa (26), Silves (30), Vila do Bispo (39), Faro (46) and Portimão (56).

With values between 60 and 119,9 cases, there are VRSA (117), Aljezur (89), Olhão (68), Albufeira (65), Tavira (61) and Loulé (61).
