A declaration of intent was signed between the two parties

The Câmara de Lagos and Altice Portugal signed today, the 12th, a declaration of intent for the expansion of the municipality's fiber optic network.

The document signed today "will, in the future, be formalized by the parties through a Cooperation Protocol", according to the municipality.

For Hugo Pereira, Mayor of Lagos, «investment in new generation communication networks and the offer of services based on broadband networks are crucial for the development of the local economy and for increasing the competitiveness of the territory».

Nuno Nunes, the representative of Altice Portugal at this ceremony, considered, in turn, that «bringing new technologies to the entire territory is essential to increase digital inclusion, access to advanced services and social development, something that has yet to be revealed. more pressing in the current context».

"As Altice Portugal owns a network of conduits installed in the municipality of Lagos, it is considered important to reduce the duplication of infrastructure and minimize the volume of underground interventions, within the scope of the respective network development projects", concluded the Chamber of Lagos.
